Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Arrives in Kigezi for Four-Day Pastoral Visit and Farewell Tour

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, arrived in the Diocese of Kigezi this afternoon for a four-day pastoral and farewell visit. The Archbishop is expected to officially open the Diocese of Kigezi’s annual Brethren Conference this evening at the Convention Centre in Rugarama, Kabale Municipality.

Upon arrival, His Grace was warmly welcomed by Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, the Diocesan Bishop, as well as Retired Bishops George Bagamuhunda and William Rukirande, clergy, and members of the Christian community at Rwahi. The visit marks a significant moment in the diocese as leaders gather for worship, reflection, and fellowship ahead of the Brethren Conference.

During his stay, the Archbishop will participate in pastoral engagements, meetings with clergy and laity, and other diocesan activities designed to encourage and strengthen the church’s mission in the region. The Brethren Conference, a highlight of the diocese’s year, brings together church families from across Kigezi for prayer, teaching, and communal renewal.
