Pader Leaders Task President

Pader Leaders Task President

Leaders of Pader District in Acholi sub-region have asked President Yoweri Museveni to prioritize the upgrade of health services and roads in the area if he’s to earn their support in the 2026 general elections.

The leaders appealed to the President to direct the health ministry to upgrade Pajule Health Centre IV into a district hospital and also fast track the construction of the pledged Lt. Gen. Paul Lokech Memorial Hospital.

According to the Pader district local leaders the Pajule-Pader Town Council-Paimol Road and the Apac-Puranga-Acholi Bur roads are in a sorry state yet they are the backbone of business in the district and neighboring areas. They want the Government to have the roads tarmacked to boost trade.

The Councilor for Ogom Sub County Ojok Richard Olal, says that the totally support the move to have President’s seek re-election in 2026 but he should also treat their demands with urgency.

Last week, the Pader district council passed a resolution to support the President in 2026 in order to improve service delivery in the area.

Pader Resident District Commissioner, Milton Odongo says that they have set up a mindset change team to rally support for the President and ensure that he is massively voted for in 2026.

In reference to an ongoing campaign in Pader, dubbed, the “Gospel According to St. NRM Government’’, Odongo noted that the leaders have asked the President to consider issues of security, roads, water and sanitation, environmental conservation and human rights as key factors for development in Pader district.

Elder Alphonse Omona said that Ugandans still need more of President Museveni in order to complete his unfinished businesses for the good of Uganda.

President Museveni has not publicly backed the ongoing campaign led by a presidential advisor Hadijah Namyalo to have him seek re-election in 2026. He has only once said that Ugandans should focus on developmental issues at the moment since the general elections are three years away. Namyalo is also the head of the Office of the National NRM Chairperson who is President Museveni.
