Soroti Christians Bid Farewell To Bishop Elect Eibu
The Bishop of Kotido Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Dominic Eibu has promised to Preach Peace and Unity between Teso and Karamoja. The Bishop delivered his message during farewell prayers held at St. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Soroti City.
Christians of Kotido Catholic Diocese have bid farewell to Rev. Fr. Dominic Eibu. This is after Rev. Fr. Monsignor Dominic Eibu was appointed as the Third Bishop of Kotido Catholic Diocese by the Pope in October 15, 2022. Kotido diocese is part of Karamoja and it comprises of four districts that include; Kotido, Abim, Karenga and Kaabong.
The Bishop Elect Rev. Fr. Dominic Eibu replaces Rt. Rev. Guiseppe Filippi who served as Bishop for Kotido diocese since 2009 and resigned upon reaching the canonical age limit. He will be consecrated and installed as the third Bishop of Kotido Catholic Diocese by the Arch Bishop of Tororo Archdiocese, Most. Rev. Emmanuel Obbo.
The Bishop promised to work jointly with the people of Karamoja to bridge peace and Unity between Teso and Karamoja. Bishop urged the Christians to pray for each other.
Rev. Fr. Robert Echogu, the Vicar general of Soroti Catholic Diocese while leading prayers to bid farewell to Bishop Elect of Kotido urged the Christians to pray for Rev. Fr. Dominic Eibu as he is going to work in hard to reach area cattle rustling in Karamoja.
Bishop Eibu is a born of Amotot –Odingoi village, Kamidakan parish, Apapai sub-county in Kalaki district, Soroti diocese.
